The Wild Ride of the Trash Pandas: A Season Recap So Far

Hey Trash Panda fans! Buckle up, because the first half of the season has been a rollercoaster of highs, lows, and everything in between. Here’s a fun recap of the Trash Pandas’ journey through the twists and turns of the 2024 season.


April: The Start of a New Adventure

April 5-7 vs. Tennessee Smokies: The season opener against the Tennessee Smokies was a nail-biter, but we came up just short with a 6-7 loss. Ouch! Game two was even tougher with a 0-7 shutout, but the Pandas showed resilience and came back roaring in game three with a 5-2 victory. Michael Darrell-Hicks led the charge, and Mason Erla nailed the save.

April 10-14 vs. Birmingham Barons: The Pandas turned up the heat against the Birmingham Barons, winning 4 out of 6 games. Highlights include an 8-2 win on April 10 and a thrilling 5-3 victory on April 14, with Mason Erla again saving the day.

April 16-21 vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoos: Pensacola gave us a run for our money. We started with a heartbreaking 0-1 loss but bounced back with a whopping 9-2 win on April 17. The series ended on a high note with back-to-back wins, including a solid 3-0 shutout on April 21. Kudos to Caden Dana and Hayden Seig for their stellar performances!

April 23-28 vs. Tennessee Smokies: Back to battling the Smokies! Despite a rocky start, the Pandas came out on top with a 6-3 win on April 25, followed by another W on April 26. The month ended with a sweet 6-1 victory, showcasing Chase Chaney’s pitching prowess.


May: A Month of Mixed Fortunes

May 1-4 vs. Birmingham Barons: May started with a bang but quickly became a bumpy ride. The Pandas managed a single win in a six-game series against the Barons. Michael Darrell-Hicks remained a standout player, even in the losses.

May 7-12 vs. Mississippi Braves: The Braves series was a mixed bag. High points include a 7-1 victory on May 9 and a 6-1 win on May 11. Ivan Armstrong and Michael Darrell-Hicks continued to shine, giving fans plenty to cheer about.

May 14-19 vs. Tennessee Smokies: Facing the Smokies yet again, the Pandas showed grit with wins on May 14, 18, and 19. Victor Mederos and Mason Erla were instrumental in these victories, giving the team a much-needed boost.

May 21-26 vs. Montgomery Biscuits: The Biscuits series was a rollercoaster. Highlights include a 9-4 win on May 21 and an 8-4 win on May 25. Despite some tough losses, the Pandas showed determination and heart.

May 28-31 vs. Birmingham Barons: Ending May, the Pandas split a series against the Barons, including an impressive 5-3 win on May 29. The month wrapped up with a thrilling 2-1 victory on June 1, setting the stage for June’s adventures.


June: Thrills, Spills, and Big Wins

June 4-9 vs. Chattanooga Lookouts: June kicked off with a bang! The Pandas won 4 out of 5 games against the Lookouts, including a 10-6 victory on June 6. Victor Mederos and Michael Darrell-Hicks were heroes on the mound.

June 11-16 vs. Mississippi Braves: Back against the Braves, the Pandas faced some tough games but showed resilience. Details for these games are yet to come, but expect the Pandas to keep fighting hard!

June 18-23 vs. Biloxi Shuckers: The Shuckers series was a test of endurance. Despite some losses, the Pandas pulled off a commanding 7-2 win on June 21. Chase Chaney and Caden Dana delivered standout performances.

June 25-30 vs. Chattanooga Lookouts: The Pandas wrapped up June with a bang, crushing the Lookouts 17-4 on June 25. The series is ongoing, and we’re excited to see how our boys finish strong!


The Journey Continues
