Second Half:

  • Lee Beebe Jr. led the ground attack with 82 yards on 15 carries, scoring twice. His performance was a testament to UAB's dominant offensive line play, which opened up running lanes throughout the game(UAB at 1454).

  • Kam Shanks not only contributed on offense with six receptions for 73 yards but also electrified the crowd with his 57-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter(UAB at 1454).

Defensive Standouts:

UAB’s defense was relentless, limiting Alcorn State to just 117 rushing yards on 41 attempts and only 60 passing yards. The Blazers sacked Alcorn State quarterbacks five times and forced three fumbles, recovering two(UAB at 1454).

Looking Ahead:

This decisive win sets a positive tone for UAB's season as they look to build on this momentum. With both their offense and defense clicking early, the Blazers appear well-prepared for the challenges ahead. Meanwhile, Alcorn State will need to regroup and address the issues exposed in this tough outing.

Final Thoughts:

UAB's performance was a complete team effort, highlighting their potential as a force to be reckoned with this season. From the opening drive to the final whistle, the Blazers dominated every facet of the game, leaving no doubt about their superiority on the day.
